Optional Liner Tank Accessories

Rainsaver Gutter SystemAll Aquamate Maxi Tanks are supplied with corrugated roofing sheets. This enables Aquamate to offer a unique water catchment system for the roof of the Maxi Tank. Individual ‘Rainsavers’ are placed at the end of each corrugation to collect the rain which falls on the tank roof and filters it into the tank. This highly effective system can increase your catchment area by over 100 square metres (based on the AM3G607 series). In a 500mm per annum rainfall area this means an extra 62,000 litres of precious rainwater that would otherwise fall to the ground and go to waste.
Dust & Vermin ProtectionAquamate can protect your stored water from dust, insects, and frogs by installing a specially formulated, self-adhesive, soft foam strip between the top of the tank wall and under the corrugated roof sheets. This simple but effective option helps insure your precious water is kept clean and pure.
Decorative Fascia’sAquamate can enhance the look of your tank with fascia’s that run vertically up the tank wall hiding all evidence of the bolts protruding through the tank wall.

Aquamate can also install a fascia all-round the roof to protect tall animals (e.g horses) from cutting themselves on the edge of the roofing iron. This also enhances the look of your tank.

Fire Fighting AccessoriesAquamate can supply all the components required to comply with State & Territory requirements including:

Water level indicators compliant with Australian Standard 2419.1-2005 Clause 5.4.4.1
Fire Fighting couplings compliant with local CFA or CFS requirements

Preparing for an Aquamate Maxi Tank Installation

The following is important for you and your earthworks contactor to ensure a successful tank installation.

Step 1. Level the Tank Site

  • The site for your new tank must be 2 metres larger than the tank diameter.
  •  Where ever possible the tank should be excavated into natural ground rather than built up on fill.
  • When excavating a site, adequate drainage must be installed where required to ensure when it rains, water is diverted away from the tank.
  • When using fill to level a site, suitable retaining walls must be installed to maintain the integrity of the tank site.
  • The site must be free of sticks, rocks, or other sharp objects. Vegetation or tree roots must be permanently removed from the tank site.
Step 2. Install the Tank Pad

  • The tank pad must be 2 metres larger in diameter than the tank diameter and laid 75mm thick.
  • The tank pad must consist of Crusher Dust of equivalent material which is less than 6mm in diameter. Material greater than 6mm in diameter is not acceptable as it cannot be accurately levelled nor does it compact as required.
  • The tank pad must be clean and free of any debris or vegetation.
  • When the tank pad has been completed, ensure vehicles and livestock do not damage it.
Step 3. Final Preparation

  • When you have completed your tank pad, contact Blackmore’s Power & Water. We will then work with you on an installation date.
  • A few days prior to installation of your tank, position in a pile in the centre of the tank pad the required cubic meters of clean sand. DO NOT SPREAD THE CLEAN SAND – the installation team will spread the sand during the installation process creating a floor of sand inside the tank. Its sole purpose is to protect the tank liner from being damaged so it must be free of any debris, rocks, vegetation or other sharp objects.
  • On the day of installation you will need to organise or have available enough water to fill 10% of the tank whilst our installation team is on site to ensure the liner is positioned correctly inside the tank.
  • On the day of installation you will also need to organise or have someone to advise where the fittings need to be located.
